Eastern Region Sales Manager

DescriptionThis is a remote position at reports to the Mayhew Steel Products Office in Turners Falls, Massachusetts.
The Regional Manager position is the leader of a selling team comprised of independent territory representatives.
They are responsible for achieving the sales and profitability goals in his/her area of responsibility that contribute to the sales plan.
Additionally, this role is responsible for maintaining distributor and rep agency relationships in their area.
The role will also be asked to provide input into the annual forecasting and planning process.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Provides quality leadership for Mayhew's internal and external customers in all assigned tasks, while upholding Mayhew's values at all times:
inclusive of constructive problem solving, facilitating creative improvements, and inspiring others.
Achieves the Region's revenue and profitability quotas.
Establishes an environment and foundation for future sales growth.
Sells, mentors and teaches sales team how to sell value and solutions to Mayhew's customers.
Increase sales of new products within each territory by emphasizing product expansion and competitive conversion with existing and new customers.
Work with manufacturer rep.
agencies and distributor network to grow sales and market share in respective territories.
Coach each agency to maintain and expand customer base, building and maintaining rapport with key customers and identifying new customer opportunities.
Establish account plans with each agency for key customers to help achieve territory sales quota.
Manage rep.
agency relationships to maximize coverage and annual performance.
Manage buying group programs and promotions for territory.
Track market pricing conditions and competitive distribution programs and provide information to Vice President of Sales to help improve our programs.
Work with Vice President of Sales on providing input annually for territory plans and forecasting process.
Provide input to Vice President of Sales on market knowledge and customer needs for the new product development process.
Manage customer/distributor information by updating CRM system on a daily basis.
Actively participate in rep agency hiring process.
Provide content and recommendations to support sales and marketing, brand, and social media strategies as requested.
Participate in local and national trade shows as required.
Special projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Education requirements:
Bachelor's degree required.
Supervisory or management experience, preferably of a sales staff.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in channel sales and business development with demonstrated record of achievement.
Strong closing skills, prior completion of professional sales training or leadership courses a plus.
Networking skills (both internal and external to the organization).
Strong verbal, telephone, written, and presentation skills.
Proven ability to problem-solve, negotiate and create sales opportunities.
Ability to lead and motivate a high performance sales team.
Proven ability to achieve established sales goals while maintaining profitability.
Ability to measure and analyze key performance indicators (ROI and KPI's) Familiarity with CRM software.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently.
Proven leadership skills as well as ability to be a team player.
Basic business computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, E-mail, etc.
).
Approx.
50% travel.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
