Center for Responsive Schools (CRS) is a nonprofit educational development organization and publishing house committed to developing high-quality social and emotional learning (SEL) programs, products, and services for students and educators.

The work of CRS is designed by educational professionals and rigorously tested in the classroom and school settings for which they are intended to be implemented, using improvement science research.

POSITION
Summary:
The Research Manager is primarily responsible for and oversees qualitative and quantitative research for Fly Five programs for the purposes of describing user perceptions, attitudes, opinions, and beliefs about the program's effectiveness and implementation success (i.
e.
, descriptive, ethnographic, focus group).
They are also responsible for identifying when program development requires research that is needed for specific program improvements or accuracy (i.
e.
, grounded theory) or new program development to meet particular educational needs (i.
e.
, rapid prototyping, action research, literature reviews).
The Research Manager will work closely with the Director of Content and Curriculum Development of Fly Five to research relevant topics within the field of social and emotional learning.
The Research Manager also supports the work of Fly Five and Avenue A Publications by synthesizing the latest research on representation and diversity, developmentally appropriate learning strategies that aligns with the latest educational and academic trends.
Additionally, they will manage and coordinate internal documents for the curriculum and content department.
The Research Manager collaborates with the Director of Content and Curriculum Development to provide strategic input and guidance on all research projects by directly contributing to or managing:
research goals, planning, design, analysis, reporting, dissemination, and training.
The candidate will be a diligent researcher and writer, with the ability to quickly develop in-depth knowledge of field-specific issues and priorities.
The Research Manager is also responsible for representing Fly Five at various events, participating in peer reviews, and contributing to the development of Fly Five retail products and services as assigned.
The Research Manager must be a continuous learner and stay current in areas such as best instructional and learning practices, social and emotional learning, positive student discipline, and research design.

org/ KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Masters of research (e.
g.
, MRes) or a professional doctorate (e.
g.
, EdD) or a related discipline from an accredited institution, 3
years of teaching experience; RC teacher certification preferred.
Candidates who are not certified will be expected to participate in necessary coursework and engage in the certification process.
Demonstrated expertise participating in the design, analysis, and distribution of research.
Expert analytical skills, including the ability to distill useful findings from a body of data, ability to relate findings to external factors and context, and the ability to unearth patterns of findings, discerning which are useful.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including proven success in the ability to present ideas and concepts effectively and persuasively.
Demonstrated expertise communicating with and managing relationships with external research vendors.
Excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to set and manage priorities and multiple tasks.
Excellent attention to detail, organization and process-oriented skills.
Ability to deliver high-quality work quickly in a dynamic organization under time pressure.
Ability to lead work with partnerships with a keen understanding and skills in relationship-building and stewardship of partner-dependent initiatives.
Ability and interest in working with a high degree of autonomy and with a high degree of professionalism.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google productivity software, and identified data collection software.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Attend meetings with colleagues as planned by the Chief Program Officer and with customers at various locations.
Must pass periodic background (including fingerprint) checks.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to use a computer for up to 8 hours/day with breaks and lunch.
Ability to talk on the phone for up to 4 hours/day.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on occasion.
Ability to travel by airplane or automobile, at times extensively.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
